We at OCSW are excited to introduce our new Volunteering Passport to you. It's a way for you to gain important skills for work and life.
Interested in volunteering? Volunteering is great for many reasons. You can learn new skills for jobs, help your community, or just spend your free time doing something positive and meeting new people. We at OCSW are excited to introduce our new Volunteering Passport to you. It's a way for you to gain important skills for work and life.
The Volunteering Passport will be recognised by organisations hosting volunteers across the city, supporting you in a range of volunteering roles. Our programme consists of three levels of learning: Emerging – the basics, Developing – more in-depth learning, and Mastering, where you can achieve nationally recognised qualifications.
How does it work?
To gain your Volunteering Passport, you will need to complete 5 mini-courses at the Emerging level to achieve your Digital Badge.
You will then have the opportunity for further learning, where you can progress from ‘Emerging’ to ‘Developing’.
Further learning to achieve a qualification is available to all volunteers in a range of subjects.
You will have access to a Learning Advisor who will support you with an Individual Learning Plan to guide you on your chosen path.
Volunteering organisations can request bespoke learning packages and team sessions.
The scheme can be delivered online, in person at workshops, or through self-study online – or a mixture of all three options.
How to access the FREE training
Volunteering Friday – On the last Friday of every month, OCSW will provide a day of Emerging courses to enable volunteers to achieve their Digital Badges.
Further training will be offered via your personal Learning Advisor.
If there is demand, OCSW can add more sessions and evening options.

OCSW hopes that through running this scheme, it will provide anyone aged 19 to 99 with the practical and learning experiences needed to get on the career ladder. Not only will the scheme help the volunteers, but it will also benefit organisations by ensuring potential employees have the necessary skills for the job.
