Moving On….

Statement from our Principal, Mark Trewin

"Moving On…

This week marks the end of my tenure as Principal at On Course South West / Plymouth City Council. I'm not venturing far though, starting in late February, I'll be taking on the role of Managing Director at The Focus Training Group.

Reflecting on my time at On Course, I'm deeply grateful to have worked with such a passionate and inspiring team. Together, we've been driven by a powerful mission: #wechangelives.

Our learners and the broader community have always been at the core of our efforts. Witnessing the transformative power of education, equipping individuals of all ages and backgrounds with the skills and confidence they need to thrive and grow has been incredibly rewarding.

As I gear up for my next chapter, I'm thrilled to introduce Lucinda Sanders as the incoming Principal, starting at the end of February. Lucinda brings a rich background in adult education, apprenticeships, and 16-18 study programmes, enhanced by her invaluable insights as an Ofsted inspector.

To all the fantastic people I’ve met over the past two and a half years (you know who you are ), who have worked with us to make a difference, thank you!

In case you missed my annual reflection on our journey, you can catch it here.

I'm very proud of what we have achieved in the last few years and I am very confident that On Course South West will continue to be a leader in adult education for the city, working shoulder to shoulder with its key partners.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of this amazing journey. It’s a chapter I’ll always remember fondly, and I'm excited for what the future holds!

This picture was me proudly arriving for my first day at work - 3/10/22, a feeling that has stayed with me every day since.
